MAGIC!
As a Drag Artiste, I am aware of the links between Drag Artistry and the craft of illusion; at its most basic level, illusion in Drag transforms the male actor into the form of a female performing and singing, usually attained by well-rehearsed lip-synching to a backing track with vocals. To further enhance the 'magic' of the illusion, I can sing a number of songs LIVE in a falsetto/male soprano voice. In addition to all this, I am also working on enhancing my Drag Act with a number of simple, popular, mainly close-up stage-magic illusions, if desired by the client:
I have recently added ESCAPOLOGY to my magic repertoire: A totally fun trick (Not a Life And Death one!) where I escape from a bag within a bag, but with a surprising twist! As performed in the QUEER AS TALENT 2010 Finals in Liverpool.
I have a repertoire of card-tricks, which mainly work best close-up such as on a table to an audience sitting around, but I can also perform them on stage with a willing volunteer from the audience.
